Via Income Tax Act, 1961, the CBDT has posed responsibilities on the auditors for conducting compulsory Tax audits under direct taxes. 

 

For companies with an annual turnover exceeding Rs. 1 Crore and/or Rs. 50 Lakhs during the financial year, a practicing-chartered accountant needs to get the tax audit done for the organization.
